My New Baby Mom Must Haves

Medela Double Breast Pump. When I first had a baby, my mom convinced me that all I needed was a hand pump for the occasional bottle for Ada. Yeah right. If you ever plan on leaving your child for more than three hours, you need this pump. And it doesn’t have to cost you a lot. I got mine at a mom-t0-mom store and sterilized it with an at-home kit. Saved me 200 bucks!
Boppy Nursing Pillow. I use this thing approximately 10,241 times a day. Seriously. I love nursing with it, and I will admit, I actually cheat a little bit, because with the pillow, my hands are free to do other things–like read a book or type a blog post. Ahem. I also love the Boppy to prop the babes up on it so he can look around. I got my Boppy with my first daughter four years ago and it’s held up perfectly. Just added a green slipcover when Jacob arrived so he could escape some of the pink in his life. Voila. Tip for expectant moms: bring your Boppy to the hospital when you deliver, it will be a lifesaver with breastfeeding, especially if you’ve had a c-section.
Jogging Stroller. Forget standard, bulky strollers. Joggers are the way to go, my friends. Aside from the fact that I’ve never actually jogged with my jogging stroller, I have taken a plenty of walks with my trusty stroller and it has stood the test of time through three children thus far. Another bonus: nothing navigates better through crowded stores or public places than that multi-turning front wheel.
