Oh my gosh, I am so excited about this post I can hardly stand it.
A few weeks ago (I think it was that long, my timeline is a bit skewed these day, but you know, I did give birth and all, my excuse for all things shortcoming in my life), I wrote an article for SheKnows.com on adorable nursery signs available on Etsy and fell in love with the most adorable rustic wooden sign for Sara’s yet-to-be-created nursery.
I mean, really, how adorable is that?
The sign felt too perfect for my girls and I love the message of a strong and feminine woman that I hope they grow up to be, so when Etsy shop owner StardustTalismans very, very generously offered to ship me a free sign, I was beyond excited. I literally ripped open this package when it came yesterday and started babbling on about it to Ben.
There’s just one problem with the image of the picture-perfect sign that I have been dreaming of adorning the walls of Sara’s picture-perfect cream-and-pink nursery, compete with a dripping chandelier:
It doesn’t exactly exist.
Right now, we are at max capacity in our house of six–we have three bedrooms, one of which the two big girls share, one of which is currently Jake’s, and the other of course, that Ben and I hunker down in with the baby’s play pen in the corner. I’m trying really hard not to stress out about the sleeping arrangement, but the truth is, I’m stressing out.
I really, really don’t want my two-year-old and a newborn sharing their own room and while we could keep the baby in the room with us for a while, I have also found that around 3 months old, my babies really do sleep better in their own rooms.
So, we’re at a bit of a standstill. We kind of sort of talk about moving or building, but time + money seems to be an object. I kind of sort need to make a decision, but don’t know what to do. And I really, really want Sara’s girly-girl room so I can hang up this gorgeous sign.
Any advice? Should we stick the little two together and hope for the best? Or do you think that with four kids, it’s time to move on from a three bedroom house?
