You may have heard me mention a time or two that I am a bit, well, craft-challenged.
And to illustrate, I share with you these, my weekly Pinterest “nailed it” moments.
The past two weeks have been part of a miserable existence of kids constantly sick, passing fevers back and forth like little football receivers, Jacob coming down with croup that left him barking like a seal, and sleepless nights that led me to sleep in my contacts and wash my hair three times because I kept forgetting I had just washed it.
In the midst of our sickness, I, of course, resorted to letting the kids watching hours upon hours of mindless television and Christmas movies (in related news, Rudolph, somehow never gets old). And then, of course, I resorted to succumbing to intense mommy guilt that left me scrambling to Pinterest for some easy craft ideas that would prove that I wasn’t a terrible mother.
First we tried some easy DIY snowglobes. So cute! So easy!
And here’s how ours turned out.
Note: Wood glue is a bad choice if you attempt this oh-so-easy DIY project. Just sayin’.
Next up were those those adorable little Santa handprint ornaments going around everywhere. It’s just salt and flour! Impossible to mess up!
So then I got called into work and asked my sister to take over on the painting portion.
That was a mistake.
Finally, I gave up and decided to try something a little less hands-on. I would turn our back doors into a Christmas wonderland of paper snowflakes! Seriously, that’s just cutting paper, right? Surely that is something I can do…
And I stand corrected.
So if anyone is in need of any craft advice, you know who to call.
Obviously not me, because I’ll be off watching Rudolph for the 10,002 time.
