I’m addicted to making my monthly goals, I just can’t help it.
I swear to you, IT WORKS. Last month, I made a goal to make an additional $1,000 a month–a very specific goal, mind you–and on June 1st, I started a new job writing for Babble, that combined with a few other side jobs I worked on, earned me exactly $1,000 more a month!
You can’t make that stuff up.
And so, I am believer now and will continue on, taking a look at last month’s goals and planning ahead for July.
Last month I set goals to…
Take a family vacation. Totally did it! We had a lot of fun on our first trip as a family of five. 400 miles, 3 kids, and one unfortunate incidence of me forgetting to buckle a carseat…for the entire ride home. Read about it here.Find one more steady gig. I think I got this one down. It’s been in the works for quite some time, but I think I will be contributing pretty regularly to Moonfrye, although it’s still not as much as I had initially hoped.
This month, I hope to…
- Win the Babble bonus. Every month, Babble offers a bonus to the bloggers with the most page views. And I will admit that I have a bit of, shall we say, competitive side. As in, I REALLY WANT TO WIN. Ahem. Feel free to help a sister out and allow your three-year-old to go crazy clicking on any of the links HERE.
- Go golfing with my husband. Would you believe I have never been golfing? It’s a strange but true fact and something I would like to remedy this summer, before he goes back to school.
- Find another medical writing job. I found a medical writing association that I’d like to join, aside from the steep membership price, and I’m hoping it will help me land some more medical writing. I love writing for businesses or medical groups, especially because there’s not a chance in hell that doing so could land my personal pictures up on Yahoo. Good grief.
And that’s it! July is our last month of freedom before Ben goes back to school so I want to keep it light on work and heavy on family fun and swimming.
