It’s that time again.
Time for summer and planting flowers and playing outside.
And babies eating dirt.
I try to kick get my kids outside as much as possible when the weather is warm. And although I’m still working on getting them to the point where they can play a bit more independently, for the most part, they love being outside. It’s hard for me sometimes because I feel like they should be able to just go play without me constantly by their sides, but I think that’s just one of the struggles of being a parent today. Our kids are just accustomed to constant entertainment and interaction.
Tell me your kids are like this too? Follow you around everywhere and whine if you don’t come outside with them? Please make me feel better?
Anyways, so although the warmer weather has been nice to get them outside, I’m definitely still at the stage where I have to be constantly vigilant outside because of the Jake-man.
Jake, however, is a pretty good sport about playing outside. He enjoys trying to eat grass and swinging in his bright pink swing, a remnant of life with his sisters and my poor planning on insisting on buying everything pink.
Poor guy.
Like most men, he gets really dirty outside and it’s been nice to try out my final product as Baby Magic ambassador–the No-Rinse Wash.
At first, I was puzzled by this product. I emailed the brand’s spokeswoman and admitted that I just couldn’t think of a use for it. Where could I possibly be that I would need a quick way to clean the baby that wouldn’t involve an entire body scrub down?
Gently, she explained to me how nice the product was for those instances when you wanted to wash baby’s hands without a harsh alcohol-based sanitizer, especially at this stage in the game, where Jake puts everything he touches in his mouth. With his hands.
And suddenly, the lightbulb went on I realized just how endless the possibilities for the No-Rinse Wash were.
The park.
The beach.
Outside in the sandbox.
A quick trip to preschool.
The disgusting fast food restaurant my daughter chose for her birthday lunch. Which is where I had the pleasure of testing out the No-Rinse Wash, quite successfully I might add. After I did a full scrub-down on the sticky high chair pulled from the corner (disgusting), I settled Jake in with a pouch of organic baby food. True to form, he pushed away my carefully-chosen organic beet and pear puree and reached for his sister’s french fries. Panicked at the thought of what grime he had probably picked up just sitting in the fast food high chair for 0.3 seconds, I was at a loss of what to do for a moment…
Until I remembered the handy No-Rinse Wash I had stashed in my diaper bag, just for an occasion like this.
One pump, a quick rubdown on Jake’s hands as he squirmed to get out of my reach, and done. No harsh residue and I felt a little bit better about my mothering skills. Even if I was still feeding a baby french fries. Oops.

we don’t really have a harsh winter where I live, but we mostly stay inside when it’s cold. I’m a total wimp about cold weather so we try to find indoor activities until it warms up outside!
We don’t have too harsh of winters, but we always use aquaphor on the kids skin and it works well
I am expecting in July-so I’m not sure where I would use this but I am sure it will come in handy! 🙂
I would use it everywhere! Those nights when my baby needs a quick cleanup but not a full bath, at the restaurant, after the theme park, after the water park, after any contact with the general public. Problem is I couldn’t find it at my BRU. 🙁
i would us this when my toddler decides to play with questionable substances he discovers at the park lol
