I will be the first to admit that a lot of stereotypes about moms, and stay-at-home moms in general, are 100% absolutely true. Stereotypes evolve for a reason.
But some of them?
Just aren’t true, like a few of these common misconceptions about us stay-at-home mom types I am just a teensy bit tired of hearing:
1. We are all obsessed with Target
Truth be told, I think I’ve gone to Target once in the past five years. I mean, would I probably go there more often should the nearest store be a little closer to me than 30 miles away? Most likely. But do I spend every waking moment pining for Target to envelope me in its loving-yet-backstabbing arms? No.
Call me crazy but I’m not even excited about the fact that one Target plans to install a bar within its aisles of gorgeous home decor and overpriced workout attire. I mean, what would I do? Drink a bottle of wine with my kids in my cart and then go sleep it off on that Pinterest-worthy pillow?
2. We don’t shower
I mean, really people, can we let this one die a hasty and unhygienic death? I don’t care how horrific your children have been all day (and trust me, I’ve been there), taking a shower takes 5 minutes and it’s really not something to brag about not doing, you know what I’m saying?
